Summer 2012 Sets: Official Pics

Jabba's PalaceDesert Skiff
I’m a little behind on this; real life and duties on Eurobricks have been getting in the way. GRogall on EB has posted these clean, official shots of the boxes for some of the sets in this year’s summer wave. I’m not a huge fan of the Old Republic sets, but we’ll see how they sell. LEGO EU sets don’t have a great history. Jabba’s Palace is clearly the flagship set of this wave for OT fans, though, and I’m looking forward to some of the updated minifigs, even if the price isn’t that great.

Not a Piece of Junk

On EB, members have been discussing how expensive 10179 is nowadays. Some of them have shown us how they Bricklink the individual parts to put one together with significant savings. jasonsmith, however, has gone the extra mile and installed a complete system of lighting in his Falcon. That’s not unheard of, but what is impressive is that he took the time to make this a completely purist solution, using only lights made by LEGO. Just look at the light streaming out onto the landing struts and out of the boarding hatch: combined with jasonsmith’s excellent photography, it gives an incredible effect to the complete look of the Falcon.

Promo Chrome TC-14

Some fans have been picking up their May LEGO Store Calendars, and this is one of the advertised promos. For the “May the 4th be with You” and the “Revenge of the Fifth” events, this will be available with a $75 LEGO Star Wars purchase. Unknown whether all $75 have to be spent on Star Wars.
